DUTIES The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties: • Providing dedicated driver/ chauffer service to the department in accordance with the Department’s Transport Policy; • Undertaking messenger work/picking up and delivery of materials, mails and equipment for the department; • Assisting in driving for the Permanent Secretary and the Minister as and when required; • Ensuring daily cleanliness of the vehicle, keeping tidy and in good working condition; • Ensuring vehicle is timely serviced and defects are detected and addressed in a given timeframe; • Ensuring running sheets and fuel receipts are submitted on daily basis to the Transport officer; • Providing administrative support in daily operations. QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES The applicant should possess: • A pass in the Fiji Seventh Form Examination or equivalent with at least 5 years general driving experience; • Possess good understanding of road codes and related transport legislations; • Hold a valid group 2 License with Defensive driving certificate; • Basic knowledge of Occupational, Health and Safety; • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills; • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines, ability to work under pressure and long hours.
