ECONOMIC PLANNING OFFICER - DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS

KEY DUTIES:
Duties will include:
• Examining impact of policy and regulatory changes on the Communications sector
• Gather critical data and conduct trend analysis of industry related statistics
• Assist in the monitoring and implementation of the Department’s Budget in the Communications sector
• Assist in the formulation and development of policy papers pertaining to the Communications sector
• Provide technical input into presentations, ministerial statements, parliamentary responses, press release and speaking notes
• Represent the Department at various meetings when required and where necessary support monitoring in the economic, general administration or social sectors of the Department’s budget

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
The applicant must possess:
• A degree in Economics or Finance or Accounting or Commerce from a recognized institution.
• 3-4 years of relevant work experience in policy planning, budget preparation and implementation in any public sector
or corporate organization and
• Understanding of Fijian Constitution (2013) and applicable laws of Fiji.

• Ability to achieve results personally and through effective team leadership
• Demonstrated ability to lead, plan and organize activities, projects and work cooperatively within a team environment
• Sound communication, interpersonal and representational skills
• Ability to follow guidelines and appropriately apply processes
• Ability to write concise minutes and reports
• Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality
• Service oriented approach with a commitment to supporting the operational and corporate environment of the
organisation
• Must be available to work in the evenings, weekends and holidays (if required).

Compensation: BAND F ($22, 528.74 to $36, 103.75)
