The Ministry of Civil Service invites suitably qualified and eligible candidates to apply for the vacancies detailed below:

MCS 11/2017 – EXECUTIVE OFFICER (STATISTICS) RECRUITMENT [re-advertised]

POSITION PURPOSE:

The position contributes to the effective and efficient recruitment of Administrative and medical staff.

KEY DUTIES

The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties.

1. Manage the Staffing Establishment and statistics for the Ministry;
2. Liaise with Accounts Section / Payroll with regards to the reconciliation of salaries and wages;
3. Manage the postings of Medical Officers in consultation with the Permanent Secretary for Civil Service, Permanent Secretary for Health & Medical Services, Director Recruitment, Medical Superintendents, Divisional Medical Officers and other relevant officials from Ministry of Health and Medical Services;
4. Provide recruitment statistics and administrative reports to the Permanent Secretary and the Director
5. Assist the Recruitment Team in processing vacancies; and
6. Contribute to corporate and administrative requirements of the Ministry of Civil Service as and when required.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


Qualifications in public administration, business administration, human resource management or equivalent is desirable along with the following knowledge, experience, skills and abilities:

Knowledge and Experience

1. Knowledge and experience in open merit based recruitment & selection;
2. Demonstrated experience maintaining a large staffing establishment;
3. Knowledge of salary and wages reconciliations;
4. Good understanding of the Constitution and applicable laws in Fiji, with sound knowledge of public administration policy and practice.
5. Experience in providing oral and written advice to senior management.

Skills and Abilities
1. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovatively to achieve needed outcomes and timelines;
2. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
3. Good prioritizing skills with the ability to multi task and work effectively without supervision;
4. Service oriented approach with a commitment to supporting the operational / corporate environment of the organisation.

SELECTION CRITERIA


1. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and innovatively to achieve outcomes and timelines;
2. Demonstrated ability to manage a large staffing establishment;
3. Good prioritisation skills with the ability to multi task and work effectively without supervision;
4. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
5. Good oral and written communications skills;
6. Service orientation.

Compensation: SALARY RANGE: $17,518.41 - $30,515.63
