The incumbent will be in charge of conducting and facilitating co-operative management trainings to co-operative businesses in Fiji. He or she will also contribute to the effective promotion and management of co-operative businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and analyse Training Needs Assessment of co-operatives
• Assist in the formulation of the Training Plan for the Training Division and disseminate to relevant stakeholders and Design and prepare lesson plans, training programs and training materials
• Facilitate the effective and efficient conduct and implementation of the training programmes as outlined in the Training Plan
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation of trainings conducted and then prepare feedback reports
• Participate at forums and meetings with relevant stakeholders in the promotion of co-operatives through development and training
• Assist Manager Training in the registration of the Co-operative College with Fiji Higher Education Commission
• Assist Manager Training in the formulation of Training Manuals and attend to any other duties assigned by the Manager Training

Person’s Specification

The applicant must possess an undergraduate degree in a related field such as Economics, Commerce, Management or Business Studies. Completion of Training of Trainers modules with NTPC will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Experience

• At least three years of work experience in the field of training on business management
• Thorough knowledge and work experience in the field of co-operative business with minimum of three years
• Sound understanding on the Co-operatives Act, principles and values and be able to apply to business practices
• Knowledge on business management and regulations in Fiji
• Understanding of the Fijian Constitution (2013) and the basic structure and protocols of the Fijian Civil Service;

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to prepare and design training plans, programs and materials
• Ability to conduct and facilitate training at any given time
• Ability to interpret and communicate the Co-operatives Act well for business practices
• Ability to update training materials through research and development according to the current changes in the co-operative business arena
• Be able to demonstrate strong analytical and management skills;
• Be able to apply business management skills to co-operative businesses
• Be enthusiastic, motivated and reliable and possess good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Should work independently with minimum supervision; and
• Ability to manage staff and resources.
• Must have demonstrated intellectual capacity, drive, determination and flair in existing grade and proven to be a meritorious performer

Compensation: Salary Band: F [$22, 528.74 - $36,103.75]
