People's Republic of China Vice President to transit through Fiji

The Vice President of the People’s Republic of China His Excellency Zeng Qinghong will be transiting in Fiji for five hours on his way to Mexico this Sunday 23rd January, 2005.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade Kaliopate Tavola today confirmed he will be leading the Fiji Team that would be at the Nadi International Airport to meet the Vice President on his arrival and to farewell him on his departure.

Mr Tavola will be accompanied by his Chief Executive Officer Isikeli Mataitoga, Commissioner Western Ratu Isoa Tikoca and the Chief of Protocol Akuila Waradi.

The Vice President of China will also make courtesy calls on the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo and Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase which will take place at 10.30am and 11.00am that same morning at the Nadi Airport’s Ballroom and Boardroom respectively.

The Official Secretary and the Chief of Protocol will accompany Ratu Iloilo when they will meet H.E Qinghong while the PM’s Private Secretary together with the Chief of Protocol will be with the PM to receive the Vice President.
