The co-chair for the National Council for Building A Better Fiji, Archbishop Petero Mataca has urged the political parties, churches, unions and some non government organisations that have distanced themselves from this initiative to rethink their decisions.

“We need the People’s Charter to be inclusive as possible, of all the hopes and dreams, of everyone in our nation”.

These were the words of the Archbishop in his opening address at yesterday’s first official meeting of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji held at the Raffles Tradewinds Convention Center in Lami.

In addition, Archbishop Mataca has expressed his disappointment at those that have chosen to reject an invitation to join the National Council for Building a Better Fiji by saying that the People’s Charter needs the involvement and the opinions of everyone.

“We need to sit together, in honest dialogue, work together, so that together, we can take the country forward” said the Archbishop.
