Chairman of Kadavu Provincial Council, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo, has called on political leaders to put politics aside and support the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) to help move the nation forward.

Following his appointment to the National Council, Mr. Nawalowalo said the most honorable thing for political leaders and traditional chiefs to do, is remove their narrow political agenda’s and personal vendetta’s.

“Join us in our common endeavor to rebuild our nation through “A Peoples Charter for Change and Progress.”

Mr. Nawalowalo said he carried no political agenda, nor harbored any malice against anyone.

“I’m here because I believe in the cause and because for too long we have been racially compartmentalized and the time is now that we learn to live together in peace and harmony and one nation.”

The Chairman of the Bua Provincial Council Ratu Filimoni Ralogaivau shared similar sentiments.

“As leaders, we owe it not only to ourselves but to our children and future generations to help rebuild a better Fiji, one that is well governed, prosperous, truly democratic and peaceful.”

Dewan Maharaj who is President of the country’s largest Hindu Organization, the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, also said it was about time a new and prosperous Fiji was built for the future generation.

Mr. Maharaj added that the inaugural meeting of the NCBBF will go down in history as “the day leaders from various communities in Fiji got together to come up with a mandate for the President to move our beloved country forward”.
