FSC board acknowledges visit by Prime Minister

The Chairman of the Fiji Sugar Corporation Board , Mr. Bhoo Gautum today thanked Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and his team for visiting the staff and managements of Rarawai Mill in Ba.

While delivering his key note address Mr. Gautum, sincerely acknowledged Governments assistance to the Fiji Sugar Industry during this challenging time.

"I am honored to have Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama at the Rarawai Mill today, his presence along with his team is an indication of the tremendous support for the speedy revival of the Sugar Industry in Fiji, Mr. Gautum said.

He added that while the industry is facing one of its challenging phases, it has drawn out 5 key objectives which will see a revamp in its three key sugar mills and these will include:

- Factory upgrade
- co-generation
- ethanol
- land utilization
- Markets.

Government has allocated a total of $86 million towards the Sugar Industry.
