Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said he knows that a return to parliamentary democracy is essential to restore investor confidence, however, he stressed that things cannot be rushed to please the international community. Commodore Bainimarama said the interim government will not bend to the pressure from the international community to have elections without ensuring sustainable democracy. (fijivillage.com)

Two political parties have this morning revealed that they will decide whether or not to participate in the proposed Presidential Forum after looking at the terms of reference. Ousted Opposition Leader and leader of the United Peoples Party Mick Beddoes said they will not participate if the Fourm will only focus on proposed electoral changes and the People’s Charter.
