Auditor General Eroni Vatuloka does not see why the Prime Ministers Office cannot disclose the budget for the National Council for Building a Better Fiji. He said his office audited expenditures and not the budget. PM's permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said there was no issue on the disclosure of information on the NCBBF and that the secretariat has been supplying reports on a regular basis on their activities including financial reports. The Primary Industries Ministry has introduced 49 varieties of wheat from the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre in Mexico at its Legalega Research Station. Acting Senior Research Officer (Crop Diversification) and the officer responsible for the introductions, Mr Shalendra Prasad said the varieties arrived in the country on late June this year and have been planted to study its performance under local conditions. The Citizens Constitutional Forum believes that the proposed political dialogue should not have to depend on the Presidents Political Forum. CCF director Reverend Akuila Yabaki said the CCF is continuing to search for local and international partners to work on creating and economic problems to map out a progressive way forward for the nation. Interim Defence Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau has met Police Commissioner Esala Teleni and directed the police department to conduct an immediate investigation of Josefa Baleiloa's death. Yesterday, Ratu Epeli said Baleiloa's death was unfortunate but the police would investigate. (FT)

The media promulgation could be finalized by the end of the year or early next year, according to Department of Information deputy secretary Major Neumi Leweni. He said if the media was reporting responsibly it need not worry about the upcoming promulgation. (FT)
