The new Fiji National Archives Centre will be officially opened on Thursday by Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama. The new complex which is located at Kimberley Street, Suva is funded by the Government with $3.8 million of which $3m is for the new building and $0.8m is for the renovation of the existing Archives building. The Immunization Campaign against Cervical Cancer was launched by the Health Ministry yesterday. Authorities are calling on all parents to make full use of the immunizatation campaign, to protect their daughters from the disease. (fijitv.com)

Fiji has received $22.4million worth of vaccination to fight cervical cancer. Interim Health Minister Doctor Jiko Luveni said a donation of 110,000 doses was offered by the vaccine manufacturer Merck and Company of the United States. (FT)

The Government vessel Iloilovatu will be taking stranded teachers from the Lau Province who are still in Suva following the third term school holidays. Radio Gold News understands that Education Ministry officials will also be taking this trip to introduce the new school curriculum to outer island schools. The boat is scheduled to leave today. The Reserve Bank yesterday reviewed its exchange control policy to allow travellers to carry $10,000 $5000 above the limit. Credit and debit cards limits have been raised from $10,000 to $15,000. The changes come into effect immediately. Exchange control limitations came into effect in December 2006 in an effort to stop the possible run on funds at local banks. In 1987 many bank account holders took money out to keep at home or send overseas as they lost confidence in the military government. (FT)
