The Supervisor of Elections has today emphatically stated, her office is independent of the Interim Government and international agencies. Responding to criticisms over the work and role of the office, Felicity Heffernan says she is not towing any line, and that no one can dictate election timeline to them. (fijitv.com)

Former head of the GCC Task Force and National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) member Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo believes that chiefs of Fiji must put aside political differences and submit names to allow the Great Council of Chiefs to sit. Ratu Josateki believes most chiefs in Fiji are not submitting the names because they are being influenced by political parties which, is the reason why most have not submitted their nominees.
