The Supervisor of Elections has today emphatically stated, her office is independent of the Interim Government and international agencies. Former head of the GCC Task Force and National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) member Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo believes that chiefs of Fiji must put aside political differences and submit names to allow the Great Council of Chiefs to sit. Ratu Josateki believes most chiefs in Fiji are not submitting the names because they are being influenced by political parties which, is the reason why most have not submitted their nominees.
