The Interim Government is strongly committed to raising the level of investment in the country as part of its effort to create employment opportunities, improve the standard of living of the people of Fiji and in particular to reduce poverty.

Concerns have been raised by investors both foreign and local that the major hindrance to the successful implementation of investment is due to the delay in the approvals process among government agencies.

To facilitate the expeditious implementation of investment projects, investors with proposals that were submitted to regulatory agencies more than 3 months ago and who have not yet received satisfactory responses, are requested to submit their proposals and the reasons they have been given for the delay to the following:

I. Local investors

Mr Pita Wise
Permanent Secretary
Ministry for Industry, Tourism, Trade & Communications
2nd Floor, Naibati House, Goodenough Street
P O Box 2118
Government Buildings
SUVA.
Phone: (679) 3305 411
Fax: (679) 3302 617
Email address: pwise@govnet.gov.fj

II. Foreign investors

Mrs Annie Rogers
Chief Executive Officer
Fiji Islands Trade & Investment Bureau
6th Floor, Civic Tower, Victoria Parade
P O Box 2303
Government Buildings
SUVA
Phone: (679) 3315 988
Fax: (679) 3301 783
Email address: annierogers@ftib.org.fj

All proposals received by the two agencies will be reviewed on an urgent basis and responses will be provided within three weeks.

All submissions must be received within three weeks from the date of this public notice.
