| 10/11/05 - Government to facilitate Pastor Benny Hinn visit |

Cabinet has decided that Government is to provide the necessary facilitation and security arrangements for Pastor Benny Hinn when he visits Fiji next January.
Cabinet took this decision based on the recommendation of the Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase.
The Prime Minister said that the Assembly of Christian Churches in Fiji is organising world renowned American Evangelist Pastor Benny Hinnıs programme called the Benny Hinn Miracle Crusade.
The Crusade will be held at the Sports City in Suva from Friday 20th January to Sunday 22nd January, 2006.
³Pastor Benny Hinn will be accompanied by 20 member delegation and will arrive in Fiji on Sunday 15th January and depart on Saturday 28th January².
³Governmentıs assistance will be in the form of airport facilitation on arrival and security arrangements throughout the visit².
In taking this decision, Cabinet noted that the Crusade will attract a large number of people from overseas, with the total number estimated to be around 300,000 people from around Fiji and the region.
Cabinet is also aware that Pastor Benny Hinn has a wide international following and attracts a lot of media attention and public interest.
This Crusade, therefore, has the potential to showcase Fijiıs capacity to host large scale international programmes.
Fiji is also likely to benefit from the wide publicity for the event both through visitors attending the Crusade and the worldwide television coverage.
