Cabinet has approved the Fiji National Provident Fund Transition (Amendment) Decree2012 and the Fiji National Provident Fund (Amendment) Decree 2012.
The Decrees are to appropriately effect the approved policy principles of the Fiji National Provident Fund Transition Decree 2011 (FNPF Transition Decree) and the Fiji National Provident Fund Decree 2011 (FNPF Decree).
Cabinet based its decision on a submission by the Attorney – General, Mr Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The Attorney – General said that these changes are in line with the framework of the approved policy principles of the FNPF Transition Decree and the FNPF Decree.
He further said that the amendments inter alia removes anomalies and provides clarity.
