Fiji will be represented at the first inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, in Bogota, Colombia this month.
The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Hon. Lynda Tabuya, will be accompanied by Child Advisor to the Ministry, Ms Natalie Siegel-Brown and Director Children, Ms Arieta Tagivetaua at the conference.
Minister Tabuya is expected to present the Fiji Government’s pledge on ending violence against children during the conference.
The conference is an opportunity to concretely accelerate action to end violence against children, including investment in more solid and integrated child protection and violence prevention systems.
It is anticipated that the outcome of the conference will promote the commitments relating to addressing violence against children as outlined in Fiji’s National Development Plan 2025-2029.
