Five families in Vadra Village, Moala, Lau are a step closer to having new homes following the arrival of building materials under the Rural Housing Assistance (RHA) Programme.
A team from the Ministry’s Rural Housing Unit travelled to the Lau Group this week with materials to support the continued construction of five homes under Scheme 3 of the programme.
A portable sawmill has also been deployed to the village to process timber locally, helping to support construction and improve the efficiency of works on site.
The RHA Programme continues to support families by improving housing conditions and access to suitable homes, particularly in Fiji’s rural and maritime communities.
The Ministry acknowledged the villagers of Vadra for their warm welcome and hospitality and thanked the Ministry of Forestry for supporting the project through the deployment of a Forestry officer and assistance with the availability and processing of timber resources.
