The President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere received a courtesy call from the German Federal Foreign Minister, Ms Annalena Baerbock at the State House today.
The Head of State welcomed Ms Baerbock and her delegation to Fiji and congratulated them on the recent opening of the German Embassy in Suva.
During their meeting, President Katonivere discussed Fiji’s promotion of the Zone of Peace, a resource-sharing program that safeguards the environment, food security, happiness, and water security.
The head of state also acknowledged the ongoing support provided by Germany through the International Climate Initiative and its role in UN peacekeeping.
Also present at the meeting was the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Fiji , Dr. Andreas Prothmann with the Ministerial Director, Head of the Dept for Asia and the Pacific, Ms. Petra Sigmund.
