Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Health of Fiji and the Ministry of Health of Brazil on Cooperation on Health Related Matters.
Cabinet based its decision on a submission by the Minister for Health, Dr Neil Sharma.
The Minister said that the MOU provides a framework for the participation and responsibilities of the parties in terms of co-operation in the field of health care.
He said that the MOU seeks to encourage and promote co-operation in areas such as professional training of medical personnel and pharmaceuticals.
