His Excellency the President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote conveyed his well wishes to the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Rugby team.
The Flying Fijians presented their i-Tatau to President Konrote at the State House in Suva where he urged them to support each other at the Rugby Championship.
Speaking on behalf of the nation, he said, “Please be assured that our well wishes and prayers will be going with you. I would like to remind you to remain focused and play as a team and look after one another”.
“Be good ambassadors on and off the field, you will compete against other countries and I urge each of you to practice good sportsmanship.”
He told the players to maintain their healthy lifestyle as Fiji is losing too many people to hypertension and diabetes.
The Flying Fijians rugby team will be competing in the Rugby World Cup Tournament in Japan on the 20th of September and will play their first match against Australia.
