Thirteen District Representatives or Mata ni Tikina’s who are members of the Lau Provincial Council meeting have expressed their appreciation to Government for the various government development assistance rendered to their various remote islands.
Lau province has a total of 13 Tikina Representative representing 72 villages in the province.
During the meeting yesterday with the Commissioner Eastern Luke Moroivalu at the chiefly island of Tubou the Tikina Representatives voiced their gratitude to the government of the day.
Wate Soko, Yadrana District representative thanked the Ministry of Agriculture for the varieties of crop seedlings being supplied by the farmers of Lakeba.
Moala Tikina Representative Ratu Taito Draunidalo also acknowledged Government for the various development assistance that has been given to the island of Moala.
Totoya District Representative Josateki Temo said that the solar power project which has brightened up the 4 villages of Totoya has greatly benefitted the villagers.
Some Tikina representative have thank Telecom Fiji for providing VTSAT communication in their schools which have enabled their students and teachers to access the internet and other social media benefits.
The Lau Provincial Council meeting which was opened today by the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Hon Adi Selai Adimaitoga will end on the Saturday 27th April 2019.
