MINISTRY FOCUSES ON 3 STRATEGIC PRIORITY AREAS

The Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development will now have three Strategic Priority Areas to focus on after launching its 2019-2020 Annual Costed Operational Plan at the Vatumali Government Service Station in Navosa today.
 
While unveiling the document, Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Dr Mahendra Reddy said that this plan is in alignment with the Government’s broad goals outlined in the National Development Plan and the Sustainable Development Goals.
 
“Our Strategic Priority Area 1 focuses on raising living standards and growing the rural and maritime economy. This includes basic infrastructure such as proper drinking water, good sanitation, proper roads and telecommunication networks for our rural populace” said Dr Reddy.
 
“Our Strategic Priority Area 2 is an important dimension of this plan which is to integrate climate and disaster resilience as a critical part of our work plan for all our Divisional Offices. This is the Coordination and Facilitation of National Disaster Operations”.
 
With Strategic Priority Area 3, Minister Reddy shared that this area focuses on the Organization Effectiveness, Workforce Development and Good Governance.
 
“I am excited about the new direction that this Ministry is taking, and I am confident that the Ministry will deliver its services to the best of their ability, and we look forward to your support” said Dr Reddy.
