Key Responsibilities
The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties:

Planning and Reporting
1. Ensure timely formulation of Divisional Costed plans and assist in the formulation of the Ministry’s Strategic Development plan and Operational Plans in line with the National Development Plan.

Rural Development Programmes and Projects Implementation
2. Ensure effective and efficient management of Projects and implementation of Rural Development Programmes through the Integrated Rural Development Framework, Public Sector Investments Programmes and Governments Macro-economic policies to ensure sustainability and growth of the rural economy and oversee and ensure the alignment of Development Partner’s engagement and activities to the Government’s rural development priorities.

Divisional Security
3. Ensure Socio-political stability in the Division and protection of the rights of citizens as enshrined in the Fiji Constitution through effective conflict and crisis management and resolution.

National Disaster Management
4. Divisional Controller during disaster operations, disaster Preparedness, Mitigation, Climate Change Adaptation and coordinate Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Programmes.

Protocol Services, Stakeholder Engagements & Ancillary Services in the Division
5. Provide Protocol Services to His Excellency the President, the Honourable Prime Minister and Visiting Dignitaries, Conduct Divisional Development Board meetings and maintaining excellent relations and representation to all development forums within the Division. Ensure effective facilitation of Ancillary Services in the Division

Management of Resources
6. Actively manage monitor and assess staff performance to enable business continuity and the delivery of quality outcomes aligned with individual and business objectives

7. Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, including planning, budgeting, selection activities and DISMAC duties where required.
