Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Hon. Biman Prasad, met with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Director, Mr. Pio Smith, at the High-Level Regional Consultation on Financing for Development in Asia and the Pacific, held in Bangkok.
During the meeting, DPM Prasad thanked UNFPA for its support in developing Fiji’s first National Population Policy, which aims to address demographic changes and align population dynamics with national development goals. The policy is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Fiji’s future growth.
UNFPA is looking forward to Fiji’s participation at the 58th session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) in April 2025.
