Food Processors (Fiji) Pte Limited (FPFL), a 100% Government-owned company and a Public Enterprise, implemented a 3% increment in hourly wage rate for 71 of its employees, effective 1 January 2026. The adjustment was approved in December 2025 by the Hon. Prime Minister during his tenure as Minister for Public Enterprises, as well as by the preceding Minister for Public Enterprises.

The wage increase strengthens FPFL’s continuous vision to support its workforce following the legislative wage rate changes introduced in 2025. It reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing employee welfare and maintaining fair employment practices.

FPFL continues to work closely with National Union of Factory and Commercial Workers to introduce improvements in employment terms and conditions. The latest wage increase aligns with outcomes from constructive negotiations between FPFL and the Union, reinforcing a collaborative approach to workforce matters.

As a manufacturer of canned and vacuum-packed food products under the Pacific Crown and Red Ribbon brands, FPFL values the experience and reliability of its long-serving staff, acknowledging that its employees are central to FPFL’s success and sustainability. This wage increment serves as a tangible expression of appreciation for their loyalty and continued contribution.

The adjustment also underscores FPFL’s commitment to fair and responsible employment practices that go beyond statutory requirements, while remaining mindful of the company’s financial sustainability.

Overall, the wage increase is expected to promote employee retention, strengthen workforce stability, and help ease financial pressures faced by employees. It further demonstrates FPFL’s commitment to supporting employee wellbeing and fostering a motivated workforce.
