The Fijian delegation, who are part of the 2023 Youth Exchange Programme in India, were officially farewelled in Suva on Monday (09.01.23).
The Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Jese Saukuru thanked the government of India for their continued support in youth development.
The 10-member delegation is set to depart Fiji on 14th January, 2023 and will join the government of India in celebrating its 75th anniversary of Independence.
Minister Saukuru, while speaking to the delegation, urged them to establish good contacts with delegates from other countries.
He has thanked the Indian High Commission in Fiji for providing the youth with such an opportunity and to participate at an international level.
The High Commissioner of India to Fiji H.E Shri Karthikeya said they believe that the youth are the most important resource of a country and should be given the highest priority.
During their visit they will be involved in activities such as Cultural Programmes, engaging with their fellow youth mates from different walks of life and visiting historical sites.
The Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports Mr. Rovereto Nayacalevu has encouraged all travelling staff and youth to take the opportunity to gain maximum knowledge.
The Minister for Youth and Sports wishes the Government of India a Happy 75th Anniversary of independence.
