It was a sea of blue at Leauva’a village in Apia, Samoa with the Fiji Flag flying high to welcome Prime Minister, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, for the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
PM Rabuka was accorded a traditional welcome ceremony following the hoisting of the Fiji flag and was congratulated for being a great leader of Fiji.
Fiji is being hosted by Leauva’a village for the duration of this event.
PM Rabuka was also bestowed with the title Tagaloa by the Archbishop-elect of Samoa Apia, Mosese Vitolio Tui.
Fiji’s Head of Government expressed gratitude to the village and acknowledged the long-lasting relation between Fiji and Samoa prior to the colonial era.
Following the welcome ceremony, PM Rabuka took part in a tree planting initiative by the village.
