A delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission has visited key health facilities in Fiji as part of ongoing engagement and knowledge exchange between the two health sectors.
The delegation visited Navua Hospital, where discussions with the Divisional Medical Officer – Central, Senior Medical Officer and hospital team focused on the delivery of primary and secondary healthcare services. A tour also provided an opportunity to observe facilities and infrastructure supporting patient care.
At the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva, the delegation met with the Medical Superintendent and hospital staff to learn more about hospital management, medical services and service delivery at Fiji’s main tertiary healthcare facility.
The delegation toured key areas including the Outpatient Department, inpatient wards, Intensive Care Unit and other clinical and support departments.
The visits provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and better understand different models of healthcare delivery, while strengthening engagement between Fiji and Shanghai’s health sectors.
