SPC TEAM PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN, CHILDREN & POVERTY ALLEVIATION

The Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Lynda Tabuya received the SPC’s team at the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Headquarters in Suva.

Accompanying the Minister were the Assistant Minister for Women, Children & Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Sashi Kiran, Permanent Secretary Ashwin Raj and Director Women, Mrs Selai Korovusere.

The SPC delegation that were present during the visit were SPC’s HRSD Director Miles Young, SPC’s Principal Strategic Lead – Pacific Women & Girls Mereseini Rakuita, SPC’s HRSD Programmes Manager (Pacific Women Lead) Tara Chetty, and Team Leader Governance & Institutional Strengthening Neomai Maravuakula.

During the meeting, discussions were positive and focussed on opportunities for the Ministry to work closely with SPC to deliver the Ministry’s mandate.

The Ministry and SPC concluded the meeting with an agreement to work together on several initiatives and committed to continuing dialogue to identify additional activities on which to collaborate.

Minister Tabuya acknowledged the work done by SPC and said she looked forward to working closely with the organisation in future.
