In the quest to improve the quality of care provided to the disabled persons in Fiji, the Fiji National Council for Disabled Persons is currently looking at developing a residential care home for those disabled persons who are in need of shelter and proper care.

Through the computers at this Telecentre, my Government is giving you free access to one of the marvels of the modern age – the Internet. Your lives are about to be transformed. And you are going to be empowered in a way that anyone who has not used the Internet before could never have imagined.
So this is really something to celebrate – a school that’s a symbol of the equal importance of boys and girls in the new Fiji we are building.
With those words, I just want to say again how pleased I am to be back at my old school and wish everyone an unforgettable day. And I have equally great pleasure in declaring this new facility open.
Today, we welcome and commission the first of these vessels, our new flagship – “Sigavou”. In i’Taukei, of course, it means “New Day” and that’s what this occasion marks – the beginning of a new era of inter-island shipping in Fiji.

With the click of a mouse, you can get instant access to every piece of information known to mankind. Grab the opportunity to broaden your horizons and run with it.
It is our bank, the people’s bank, and I am delighted as Prime Minister to be here on this historic occasion and to share the pride we all have as Fijians in seeing this vision realised.

When Amex Resources was granted a lease for their iron sands project, which includes the construction of this new wharf in Lautoka, it was only after careful consideration of the big picture, of how it will impact Fiji and Fijians in the long-term.
Across a broad front, my Government is commited to delivering results to the Fijian people, especially to those living in rural and outer island communities.
