"ENJOY YOUR WORK, WORK HARD, EARN AND SAVE" - MINISTER KOROILAVESAU

20/01/2016

The words of the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Honourable Semi Koroilavesau, resounded throughout the VIP lounge…“Enjoy your work, ask your supervisor if instructions are not clear, keep a low profile, work hard and save!” when he farewelled 10 more workers at Nadi Airport today.

As this is the group’s very first visit to Australia and in a new work environment, Koroilavesau cautioned them to perform their work to the best of their ability.

The Minster emphasized, they were not to allow distractors, keep a low profile and to always keep their goals and plans in mind. He added that their families in Fiji are depending on them for the benefits of this opportunity provided by the Government.

He concluded that securing Fijian nationals for seasonal work overseas is an opportunity for workers to make a difference for themselves and contribute significantly to their family, community and national development.

The group is travelling to Victoria, Australia and each member is contracted by Advanced Farming Services (AFS) to work on tomato farms.
