2022 PRIME MINISTER'S INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AWARDS LAUNCHED

06/08/2022

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum attended the launch of the 2022 Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva last night.

In his remarks, the A-G highlighted efforts by the Fijian Government over the years to create a more conducive environment for businesses to set up their services and also enable investors to feel confident in investing in Fiji.

Furthermore, the A-G explained that with the new Investment Act 2021, which came into effect earlier this week, foreign investors no longer require Foreign Investment Registration Certificates.

As per the Companies Act 2015, businesses will need to register with the Registrar of Companies and register for a tax number, which can be done online.

He acknowledged Investment Fiji for ensuring that the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards remains a premier event, where innovative and creative business ideas are rewarded.
Sharing similar sentiments, Minister for Commerce, Trade and Tourism, Transport Faiyaz Koya highlighted that the Fijian Government has taken economic diversification to another level.

"We have seen tremendous results in the business outsourcing industry. With the competitive advantage and value proposition we offer, we have paved the way to gain more prominence amongst the international markets including the European countries."

This year, there will be 17 awards in 13 categories. To hear more of the A-G's speech please click on the link below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sznZ3XNR4IU
