To all our citizens at home and abroad.
Ni Sa Bula Vina'a, Namaste, Noa’ia e mauri!
As we gather to celebrate the joy of Christmas, we are reminded of the enduring promise revealed through the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, a promise of peace, redemption, and unshakeable hope.
This blessed season calls us to reflect on God’s immeasurable grace and to recognise His guiding hand over our beloved nation.
Christmas invites us to look beyond ourselves and to embrace the divine virtues of love, compassion, humility, and forgiveness.
These are not only Christian principles they are the pillars upon which strong societies are built.
We must be proud of our nation Fiji, a richly woven society of our cultures, languages, and faith traditions.
These values continue to strengthen our unity and shape the spirit of our national identity.
As we reflect on the year that has passed, we give thanks for the progress we have made together.
Fiji has taken confident steps in consolidating our democratic institutions, fostering open dialogue, and advancing policies that:
➢ uplift families,
➢ empower communities, and
➢ broaden opportunities for all.
Our nation has continued to recover economically, strengthened our healthcare and education services, and reaffirmed our commitment to protecting our environment and God-given natural resources.
These achievements reflect not only the dedication of our people but also the favor and faithfulness of God.
To all citizens whether you reside across our islands or live far from home you remain an important part of our national story.
Your contributions, your prayers, and your enduring connection to Fiji continue to enrich the life of our country.
As we prepare to enter a new year, let the message and hope of Christmas guide our steps.
May we seek God’s wisdom in all that we do.
May we renew our commitment to unity, understanding, and respect for one another.
We must all work together to build a Fiji:
➢ where every child grows with hope,
➢ where every community is strengthened by peace, and
➢ where our diversity is embraced as a divine blessing rather than a dividing line.
This Christmas, let the light of Christ illuminate our hearts and our homes.
This Christmas, let us strengthen our resolve to:
➢ care for the vulnerable,
➢ to promote harmony, and
➢ to serve one another with sincerity and humility.
Through God’s Grace and through our collective effort, Fiji will continue to move forward stronger, more united, and filled with hope.
I ask each and every one of us, to reach out, you don’t have to look far, to find a neighbour, a friend, a family member in need.
If we all do this, to reach out and help make a brighter Christmas holiday for a neighbor or a family in need, we will go a long way to lifting up our nation.
And I remind you, your neighbor is anyone you meet, not just the family next door, but someone who may speak a different language, or be of a different ethnicity or religion, who is in need.
Let us reach out to each other and help one another as Christ has urged us.
If you didn’t have the opportunity to do so this year, help make this Christmas a good one for a neighbour in need.
As the Lord said in the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 25 Verse 40:
“And the king will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.’”
On behalf of my family and the Office of the President, I extend to every citizen best wishes for a joyous Christmas and a blessed, peaceful New Year.
May God’s love, mercy, and protection be upon us all.
Merry Christmas and God Bless Fiji.
Vinaka vakalevu, Dhaanyavaad, Thank you.
