A total of 414 students graduated from Nausori Pacific Polytech Institute yesterday. These graduates completed programs that provide practical, hands-on skills to prepare them for employment and future opportunities across various industries in Fiji.
The Minister for Employment, Productivity, and Workplace Relations, Hon. Agni Deo Singh while delivering his address congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and commitment to their studies. He encouraged them to use the skills and knowledge gained to contribute positively to their communities and the nation.
The graduates received nationally recognised certifications across key technical and vocational fields. These included the National Certificate in Agriculture (Crop Production) Level 3 with 42 graduates; National Certificate in Automotive Electrical and Electronics Level 3 with 38 graduates; National Certificate in Automotive Mechanical Engineering Level 3 with 62 graduates; National Certificate in Carpentry Level 3 with 42 graduates; National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic Level 3 with 73 graduates; National Certificate in Information Technology (Software Applications) Level 3 with the highest number of graduates at 99; National Certificate in Plumbing and Sheetmetal Level 3 with 54 graduates; and Certificate in Horticulture Level 1 with one graduate.
The Minister also acknowledged the parents and guardians for their continued support and commitment towards their children’s education and success.
He reminded them of their important role in guiding and encouraging their children to achieve their dreams and aspirations. The Minister further emphasized the need for parents and guardians to continue instilling good values, discipline, and strong moral guidance, and to help ensure that young people stay away from drug-related activities.
Minister Singh also highlighted the government’s continued commitment in skills development through strengthened technical and vocational education, closer partnerships with industry, and support for apprenticeships and workplace-based training, which aimed at ensuring that graduates are job-ready and equipped to meet the needs of the labour market.
Honourable Singh further added that this graduation is not the end but the beginning of a new journey,
“The skills you have gained, place you in a strong position to build meaningful careers, support your families and contribute to Fiji’s growth. Government will continue to invest in skills training and create pathways for our young people to succeed but it is now up to e ach graduate to apply these skills responsibly, uphold strong values and make a positive difference in society.
The institute offered a total of 48 programs of study across various campuses nationwide. Since establishment in 2023 to 2025, the institute have graduated a total of 1,482 students.
Pacific Polytech was introduced to equip young Fijians with practical, industry relevant skills to meet labour market demands, promote economic growth and improve employment outcomes.
