Our Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, travelled to Ovalau to break ground on the new Levuka Market and Women's Accommodation.
“When your new market opens, we'll have put market infrastructure in every Fijian town and city (in addition to a rural network of satellite markets). And when this safe and sheltered facility opens to its vendors, we'll be covering their market fees for one year,” the A-G said.
The project is jointly funded by the Fijian Government, the UN Women and United Nations Development Programme under the Markets for Change Project.
The event was also attended by Minister for Local Government, Hon. Premila Kumar, senior government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
