ATTORNEY-GENERAL MEETS WITH COMMONWEALTH SECRETARY-GENERAL

Yesterday, the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, met with the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Ms Patricia Scotland.

During the meeting, the two discussed areas of cooperation and strategic investment to build resilience and sustainability among small island states. Ms Scotland also commended the Fijian Government for the prudent management of the country’s socio-economic recovery following the pandemic.

Also in attendance was the Director of the Secretary-General’s Office, Ms Deborah Jamieson, Adviser and Head of the Pacific Governance and Peace Directorate, Dr Kaitu’u Funaki, Communications Coordinator, Ms Meme Tuivuniwai, Permanent Secretary for Economy, Mr Shiri Gounder, and Head of Treasury for Economy, Mr Nemia Dawai.
