COC TO ADVISE HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT ON APPOINTMENTS

The Chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission (‘Commission’) held its meeting on 2 May 2024 at Suvavou House.

In its meeting, the Commission has decided to advise His Excellency, the President, regarding the appointments to the position of Supervisor of Elections, Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service, and the Auditor-General.

Further, the Commission, having been advised by an independent committee pursuant to section 136(1) of the Constitution, has endorsed to advise the President on the appropriate remuneration and allowances of the mentioned officers. This advice will be forwarded shortly to His Excellency.

In addition, the Commission also addressed procedural matters, including the adoption of draft Standard Operating Procedures as a live document.

The Commission’s meeting today signifies its continued commitment to ensuring transparent and efficient processes in fulfilling its responsibilities.
