COMMEMORATIVE FIJI-50 COIN FOR STUDENTS

The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts will be distributing the commemorative Fiji-50 coin to every child from Years 1 to 13 in Primary and Secondary Schools throughout the country.
 
Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama launched the commemorative banknote and coin in recognition of our nation’s 50th year of independence last week.
 
The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Honourable Rosy Akbar says, “Children will be receiving a specially packaged Fiji-50 coin so that they can embrace the pride and joy of this historic milestone.”
 
Students of Queen Victoria and Ratu Kadavulevu School received the coins last week and the remaining schools will receive it in the coming weeks.
 
The Honourable Minister will be visiting a few schools this week and in the coming weeks.
 
Heads of Schools have been already notified and given the responsibility to ensure the coin is provided to every student.
 
The commemorative Fiji-50 coin will distributed to 933 schools and 223,532 students Fiji wide.
 
The Ministry also thanks all teachers and students for actively participating in the FIJI50 celebrations.
