CONSUMERS ENCOURAGED TO UTILISE NEW MOBILE APP FOR COMPLAINTS

24/07/2020

Consumer related complaints can now be filed from the comfort of your homes following the launch of the new Consumer Council of Fiji App in Suva today.

While launching the app, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Transport Hon. Faiyaz Koya said the app comes at a time where consumers demand timeliness, flexibility and convenience.

“The complaint management system, together with its Mobile App feature, symbolizes Consumer Council of Fiji’s commitment to improving customer experience. It helps in grievance redress in a more real time basis,” Minister Koya said.

“It gives you updated information and consumer advisory. It also highlights the rights and responsibilities of us as consumers.

“This app introduces a simple traceable way of lodging a complaint, in real time, giving consumers the assurance that the Council has received grievances and will offer consistent support and resolution.”

Minister Koya also encouraged Fijians to take advantage of the Consumer Council of Fiji app and keep up to date with the latest consumer trends.

Consumer Council of Fiji chief executive officer Seema Shandil commended the Fijian government for continuing to invest significantly in digital infrastructure for businesses and Fijians to connect with each other and with the rest of the world at competitive rates.

With the grant over $1million in the 2020-2021 budget allocation, the council will be able to continue best practices of advocating for consumer rights and responsibilities.
