The National Coconut Forum scheduled for Savusavu on August 27th will feature the various ways of diversifying the Coconut Industry.
This in the form of various products of coconut like copra, copra meal, crude coconut oil, refined bleached & deodorized coconut oil, virgin coconut oil, coconut milk and cream, coconut Methyl Ester (coco-diesel) and many more.
Industry stakeholders including Mr Ilisoni Taoba from the Copra Millers Fiji Limited, Mr Vilimone Vosarogo from the Department of Energy, Mr Sefanaia Tawake from the Department of Forestry and Mr Vijendra Kumar from the Coconut Development Unit, will be amongst others given time to speak at the forum.
The forum in Savusavu will allow stakeholders to identify a common standard on the various coconut products to be produced in Fiji.
Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Col Mason Smith said the final recommendations from the National Coconut Forum will be submitted to Cabinet.
