“Your presence reminds us that, no matter how far we are from home, the spirit of Fiji continues to live within us through our unity, our faith, and the love we share for one another.”

"Fiji Day is not only a commemoration of our independence; it is a celebration of who we area; proud and resilient people, bound by faith, culture, and unity."

The Minister also acknowledged the support of the Australian Government and the State of Victoria for their enduring friendship and partnership; not only with Fiji but with our entire Pacific family.

“Your continued support, cooperation, and people-to-people ties have strengthened the bond between our nations. Through education, trade, humanitarian work, and community engagement, Australia and Fiji walk together toward shared peace and prosperity."

Minister Singh reminded Fijians that peace, unity, and progress must begin from within. He said true peace is reflected in how people speak, listen, and forgive, while unity remains “the heartbeat of Fiji,” bringing together people of all backgrounds.

The Minister added that progress should uplift everyone, leaving no one behind. He called on Fijians to “keep climbing together with courage, compassion, and faith” as the nation continues its journey toward a better tomorrow.

The celebration also brought together members of other Pacific Island communities, reflecting the strong bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite the Pacific family in Australia.
