The members of the Diplomatic Corps in Fiji have paid tribute to the late Hon. Vatimi Rayalu, Minister for Agriculture and Waterways – by signing the official condolence book at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Suva.
The Heads of Missions and senior diplomatic representatives based in Suva extended their heartfelt condolences to Hon. Rayalu’s family, the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, and his colleagues.
The Diplomatic Corps joins the nation in honouring the life of Hon. Rayalu for his unwavering commitment to deliver various initiatives at the national and community level to improve the lives of our people.
Hon. Rayalu’s exemplary leadership and great legacy is a huge inspiration to us all in Fiji and beyond. During his tenure, the late Minister Rayalu championed the development of a sustainable and resilient agricultural sector in Fiji and worked collaboratively with the regional and national stakeholders.
The late Minister Rayalu visited the rural and maritime communities in Fiji, listened to their views and responded accordingly to support them through projects and programmes tailored to the needs of the communities, promoting sustainability, empowerment of women and youths and broader communities – all with the vision to build a strong, peaceful and prosperous Fiji.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fiji’s Diplomatic Missions abroad, and the Diplomatic Corps in Fiji stand with the nation in paying tribute to Hon. Rayalu for his remarkable service to the nation.
The late Hon. Rayalu will be laid to rest at the Old Suva Cemetery on today.
