DONATION FROM FIJI-CHINA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION TO BENEFIT FIJI’S FRONTLINERS

The Fiji-China Friendship Association (FCFA) recently donated a new batch of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) in support of Fiji’s ongoing response to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

PPEs consist of 50,000 disposable facemasks, 100 sets of protective gowns, 100 pairs of protective goggles and 10 infrared thermometers.

It is mobilised by FCFA, in collaboration with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD).

The PPE’s were officially handed over to Commissioner Western Division, Mr Mesake Ledua. He thanked the FCFA for their timely donation, which would benefit the front-liners and civil servants in the Western Division.

Fiji China Friendship Association President, Mrs Fangfang Jamandas, said the initiative reflects the growing cooperation under the framework of the China-Fiji comprehensive strategic partnership.

Mrs Jamandas said the donation is provided in appreciation of Fiji’s progressive steps to revive the economic activities and employment, with the reopening of Fiji’s international borders.

FCFA affirmed its commitment to provide new opportunities for local exchanges between the two countries to deepen the levels of engagement between Fiji-China.
