DPO NORTH EMPHASISES ON DEDICATION TO SERVE

The Bua District Advisory Council members were reminded of their roles to uphold their code of ethics at all times when carrying out their work.

Divisional Planning Officer Northern and the Bua District Advisory Council interim chairman, Mr Alipate Bolalevu made these remarks at a recent advisory council meeting held in Nabouwalu.

Mr Bolalevu said members of the council must dedicate themselves to providing the best service to the public at all times.

“I must reiterate the importance of upholding your code of ethics and be transparent to the communities you serve,” Bolalevu said.

“As a member of the district council, you have been chosen by Government to represent the people in your respective district.

“There is a standard operation procedure to be followed when requesting for development projects and it is important that the plight of the people you serve are respected,” he said.

Bolalevu also highlighted pillar seven of the people’s charter for change peace and progress which is the key to development.

“I must encouraged you as members of the advisory council to familiarise yourself with the people charter and stay focus because there is a lot of work to be done if we are to build a better Fiji for all,” he said.

Issues that were also discussed during the advisory council meeting in Bua include the progress of development currently undertaken by government were the bauxite in Nawailevu, Wairiki chips and signing of the contract to complete the tar sealing of Nabouwalu Dreketi road.
