Fiji Development Bank (FDB) 2010 Small Business Awards (SBA) entries will close this Friday 24, September 2010 at 3pm.
Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary, Colonel Mason Smith on August 20, 2010, launched the 2010 SBA with the theme: Improving Lives and Building Smiles.
The award is aimed at promoting Small Micro Enterprise (SME) development through the recognition of successful and innovative entrepreneurs who make a strong contribution to the economy through their livelihood.
Business that are 100 percent locally owned and turning over up to $100, 000 in gross sales per annum are encouraged to enter the awards.
There are six categories under which businesses can enter:
1). Agriculture- sponsored by Crest Chicken
2). Tourism- sponsored by FDB
3). Manufacturing- sponsored by New India Assurances
4). Professional Services- sponsored by sun Insurance
5). Wholesale/Retail- sponsored by FINTEL
6). Open Category- sponsored by the Reserve Bank of Fiji
FDB has confirmed that entries received so far cannot be determined since the applications are submitted in a box, which will be opened after the deadline.
The Awards presentation is expected to be held on November 23, 2010 in Suva.
