Diplomats breifed by Strategic Framework for Change (SFC)

The members of the Diplomatic Corps based in Suva were recently briefed by the Deputy Secretary Strategic Framework for Change Coordinating Office (SFCCO), Mr Filimone Kau on the Strategic Framework for Change (SFC) Jointly coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Civil Aviation.

The briefing themed ‘A New Fiji through the Strategic Framework for Change’ gave an overall view of the SFCCO’s strategies in line with the Vision of the People’s Charter.

20 diplomatic missions were represented in this comprehensive briefing.

Mr Kau emphasized on SFC’s Strategic Priorities on Governance, Economic Development, Socio-Cultural mandates, SFC’s initiatives and major reforms originated from the Peoples Charter for Change, Peace and Progress (PCCPP).

This was announced by the Prime Minister on 1st July 2009, and embedded in the Blueprint for Development 2009 – 2014.

It basically touched on two principle areas of; 2009 - 2012 ‘The Era to Focus on Economic and Social development’; and, 2012 - 2014 ‘The Era to focus on Political development, as we approach the 2014 Elections’.

The diplomatic corps were also shown government’s overall performance thus far, as part of the Government’s pursuit ensuring that all vital issues are covered in preparation for the 2014 elections.
