School children and the general public are urged to make use of information that will be available during the National Disaster Awareness Week.
Various stakeholders, government departments, National Fire Authority and the Fiji Police Force personnel will be part of the programme at Koroivolu Park in Nadi from October 12 to 15.
Risk Management and Research Unit principal, Mr Aisea Quminakelo says the theme of the National Disaster Awareness week is “Making towns and Cities resilient”.
“The organising committee will request schools in the West to come in numbers during the celebrations,” Mr Quminakelo said.
The National Disaster Management Office under the Ministry of Provincial Development, Multi Ethnic Affairs and Sugar is geared towards ensuring a successful campaign.
Mr Qumikoro said a physical exercise on airport crash would take place at Nadi Airport on October 15.
Government officers and stakeholders will conduct the drills.
