Permanent Secretary for Education Dr Brij Lal has commended the schools in Bua for showing their support towards education.
Dr Lal toured most schools in the province of Bua on Thursday and had first hand experience of how schools are coping despite the limited resource available to them.
He visited the Bua Education Office in Nabouwalu, Vunivau Bhartiya School, Naikavaki Secondary, Lekutu Secondary and Dreketi Secondary schools.
This was his first ever visit after taking up his appointment as permanent secretary for education.
“The Ministry applauds your efforts with the limited resources in Bua and you’ve remained positive,” he said.
Dr Lal also noted the facilities and also the roll for the schools.
This morning (Friday) Dr Lal visited Nasekula District and St Augustine’s Public schools.
During his visits, he had talks with the teachers to see how education in the Northern Division could be improved.
He was also scheduled to visit Labasa Muslim College, Labasa Arya Secondary, Labasa College and the Labasa Education Office Northern Youth Office to see the progress in Vocational Program Facilities and assess needs for improvement.
