With students beginning the first day of classes today, the Minister for Education, National Heritage, Culture, Arts and Library Services, Filipe Bole paid a surprise visit to nine schools in the central division.
“I expect all schools to be up and running today. Students should be seated and teachers taking classes,” said Minister Bole.
“Now that the government has committed to the education for all Fijian children through free education grant therefore school heads need to ensure normal teaching and learning takes place in the classrooms from the beginning of the school term,” added Minister Bole.
“Students and teachers are happy to be back in school seeing the school infrastructure rehabilitation,” said Mr. Semi Tauyavuca,the Head Teacher of Nabua Primary School.
“Schools heads and managements should plan well the use of grants to ensure services reach the students” said Minister Bole.
“The management will look into provision of enrolment of more students in Year 13 this year after the announcement of Year 13Entry Policies being scrapped,” said Dr. Vijay Nair, the managerRishikul Sanatan College.
“I will be visiting more schools within this week,” concluded Minister Bole.
