The Elections Office has launched a new website (http://www.electionsfiji.org/) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Fijielectionsoffice) to help spread information about the EVR process.
“As part of Government’s effort to encourage all Fijians to register, in particular young and first-time voters, the Elections Office has launched an online campaign to engage with those Fijians who spend time on the internet and who regularly use social media,” said the Attorney-General and Minister for Electoral reform, Aiyaz Sayed-Khiayum.
The website will be updated daily with relevant information about the EVR process, including Voter Registration Center (VRC) locations and opening hours. From the website Fijians can also send questions directly to the Elections Office, can download a brochure to learn what to expect on the day of registration, and can read background information about the EVR and the Constitutional processes.
“The Elections office has also developed a Facebook page to establish a presence on social media. This page is updated daily and provides an interactive forum for discussion about the EVR process as well as up-to-date information on EVR,” stated the Attorney-General.
